They had gone to the char, around 1km away from their home, to give Sharifa’s husband, Joyen Mia, his lunch as he was tending to his corn cultivation on a field there. Every day Sharifa needs to travel with her children, carrying food and utensils, all the way on foot due to a lack of transport.
