Taylor Swift surprises fans with ‘Cruel Summer’ remix
Taylor Swift has dropped a fresh take on her popular song "Cruel Summer" in the form of a live version from her Eras Tour, coupled with a brand new remix by LP Giobbi.
Following the release of "Cruel Summer (Live from Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour)," the acclaimed singer-songwriter took to Instagram to express her awe at how fans have embraced "The Eras Tour" concert film. In a post on Wednesday, Taylor Swift said, "What a truly mind-blowing thing you've turned 'The Eras Tour' concert film into. I've been watching videos of you guys in the theatres dancing and prancing, recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we're known for."
Swift continued, "One of my favourite things you've done was when you supported 'Cruel Summer' so much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour with it. For old times' sake, I'm releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars, plus a brand new remix by [LP Giobbi]. Thank you so much, forever. Wow, just thank you!!!"
Originally featured on Taylor Swift's seventh studio album, "Lover," "Cruel Summer" holds a special place among the more than three dozen songs in her Eras Tour setlist. It is prominently showcased in the concert film, which graced theatres on October 13.
"Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" achieved a remarkable $92.8 million in North America and $123.5 million globally during its opening weekend, securing the most significant debut ever for a concert film. As Swift suggests, the film encourages audiences to join in the dance and sing-along experience.
