President of France to visit Rahul Ananda’s studio
French President Emmanuel Macron will land in Dhaka tomorrow. Upon his visit, he has shown interest in visiting the studio of Rahul Ananda, the multi-instrumentalist musician and front-man of the urban folk group Joler Gaan.
According to media reports, Macron likes to visit the studios of artistes, while visiting any country, to learn more about their local culture.
Following this practice, he will interact with four artistes including Rahul for half an hour about possible cultural exchanges between France and Bangladesh. The other artistes are Ashfika Rahman, Kamruzzaman Swadhin and Afroza Sara.
Rahul told the media, "The French President is expected to come to my house. I am making all the necessary preparations to welcome him. Also, if he wants, I would love to sing for him and try to highlight the traditions of Bangladesh."
Although it is still unclear, why the president wanted to see these artistes, in particular, but we will get to know more, once he meets them.
Prior to visiting Rahul, Macron will directly go to the InterContinental Hotel after landing in Dhaka tomorrow. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is scheduled to perform classical music and dance in his presence.
After that, he will pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He will also pay tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at Dhanmondi. French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Monday.
