In honour of the celebrated actor, thespian, director, and cultural activist Aly Zaker's 79th birth anniversary, Nagorik Natya Sampradaya is going to organize an event, titled "Smritite Smarane Aly Zaker”, at the Bangladesh Mahila Samiti Auditorium on Friday.
Aly Zaker's journey in the world of performing arts began with a fateful encounter with Mamunur Rashid. Their professional partnership kicked off in 1971 at Swadhin Bangla Betar, where they both embarked on their creative endeavours.

Nagorik Natya Sampradaya is all set to stage their new play “Ontore Bahire Chitrangada” is based on Rabindranath Tagore's “Chitrangada”, today at 7 pm at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity in Dhaka.
Theatre festival “Aly Zaker Notuner Utshob” has kicked off in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today, at 6:30 pm To celebrate the essence theatre itself and pay respect to one of the greatest Bangladeshi thespians, Aly Zaker, Nagorik Natya Sampradaya organised the first "Notuner Utshob" with seven plays in 2019. This year, it had been renamed after Aly Zaker.
Nagorik Natya Sampradaya is the pioneer of regular staging of plays in exchange of tickets after the country emerged as a sovereign and independent nation-state in the world map as Bangladesh. The word Bangladesh had a magic touch to the majority of people in Bangladesh which inspired us to break the barrier in the fields of art, culture, literature and theatre. Nagorik Natya Sampradaya was established during the later part of 1968 in the then Pakistan.
Nagorik Natya Sampradaya, the first ever theatre group in Dhaka, recently completed its glorious Golden Jubilee. They are also the first group in Bangladesh to sell tickets for a play, which was 45 years ago. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the group performed their marquee acts alongside festive cultural programs in the Bangladesh Mahila Samiti Auditorium from 13th to 15th April 2018 in “Nobo Natter Odhijatra”. A special roundtable took place on 22nd April, where many backstage workers of Nagorik gathered together, and they talked about how to revive theatre and bring it back to the ever-evolving Bangladeshi culture. The meeting was moderated by Star Showbiz's editor, Rafi Hossain and was under the leadership of Sara Zaker, the Vice-Chairperson of Nagorik.
