‘Can we celebrate without hurting others?’: Farooki on fireworks

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) had previously issued instructions against flying lanterns and setting off firecrackers in Dhaka city during the New Year’s celebrations. However, despite the instructions, yesterday (December 31) after 11:00 pm, lights began flashing across the Dhaka sky, indicating that the directive was not adhered to. Many residents around the capital were disturbed by the deafening noise and the vibrant fireworks display. Numerous individuals expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, with producer Mostofa Sarwar Farooki also sharing a post expressing his displeasure.

Review / Something like an Autobiography: Relatable, familiar, timely

“When are you going to have a baby?” is the question that Tithi, portrayed by Nusrat Imrose Tisha, is met with, within the initial five minutes of “Something Like an Autobiography”. It is unfortunately safe to say that even in the year 2023, people somehow find it acceptable to ask this to most married individuals, who especially face these after they've been married for a good number of years.

Tisha sings after 15 years for ‘Autobiography’

The singer-turned-actor, Tisha, used to sing and started her career as a musician and even had a band of her own named “'Angels Four” with prominent musician sensations of the country, Dilshad Nahar Kona, Nafisa, and Rumana.

Not making sequel to ‘420’: Mostofa Sarwar Farooki

On November 30, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is going to make his debut as an actor through his directorial project,“Something Like an Autobiography”. The film features Farooki and Nusrat Imrose Tisha in the lead roles.

Reaction to ‘Autobiography’ in Mumbai overwhelms Farooki

The film in which director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki himself appears on-screen from behind the camera (his usual job) for the first time can be said to be special. Then again, at the end of the day, how good or bad a film is, depends on the story and acting. For now, the glimpse of how he is as an actor is being perceived.

All my hard work finally paid off: Chanchal Chowdhury

When “Karagar” premiered on Hoichoi last year, Chanchal Chowdhury as the mystery guy left an indelible effect on viewers and critics alike. The story of the strange man who appeared out of nowhere in cell 145, which had been sealed for 50 years, along with Chanchal’s performance, made it one of the most critically acclaimed series.

Farooki wraps up ‘Monogamy’, adds new ending to ‘Autobiography’

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has successfully concluded filming of his most recent project, "Last Defenders of Monogamy". The film features renowned actor Chanchal Chowdhury, known for his roles in "Karagar" and "Hawa", alongside musician Xefer Rahman. Additionally, the cast includes Samina Husain Prema and Shuddho Rai.

I live with a crazy man: Tisha

Prior to this, Farooki mentioned, "The work on 'Autobiography' is complete, the festival screenings are over, and there is a sense of peace I feel about the film. In two days, it will be screened in Mumbai. And within just a few days, we will have to deliver the film to the distributors, so that everyone can watch it soon."

An afternoon with Farooki and Tisha

One does not get the opportunity to witness the candid chemistry between the much-loved real-life couple in our industry, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Nusrat Imrose Tisha. A Tuesday afternoon spent with them at their residence gave The Daily Star a rare peek into their sweet family life, along with their exciting upcoming projects.
