Man stabs cousin to death in Dhaka

A man allegedly stabbed dead his cousin in Sutrapur of Old Dhaka early today.

The victim, Monir Hossain, 28, was a resident of Katherpul area, said Abdul Awal, assistant sub-inspector of Sutrapur Police Station.

According to the family, Monir and his cousin Wahid Hossain locked in an altercation over a land dispute in front of Monir’s house around 2:00am.

At one stage, Wahid swooped on Monir with a sharp weapon and stabbed him indiscriminately, said the victim’s uncle Shamsuddin.

Monir was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died later. 

Wahid went into hiding soon after the incident.
