‘Government wants everyone to be its PR officer’
Bans on books and publishing houses, and the "enforced disappearance" of the dissenting statue of Rabindranath Tagore, are all instances of impingement of freedom of expression, opines Tanzimuddin Khan, a professor of international relations at Dhaka University. According to him, these incidents expose the intolerant mindset of the government, the Bangla Academy, and of the Dhaka University administration.
