Ashfaque Nipun wins Best Director in film and series

Celebrated director Ashfaque Nipun bags prizes for Best director in Film and Series both in popular category at the Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2021 tonight. He won the award for the web film "Koshtoneer" and series "Mohanagar".

"Koshtoneer" is a production of Packup Films, featuring Tariq Anam Khan, Runa Khan, Syed Babu, Shamol Mawla, Sabila Nur and Yash Rohan among others.

 The story of this Hoichoi film revolves around a family, where the father is the head and is responsible for all kinds of decisions in the household. The plot of this film was layered with modern political and social contexts in very subtle ways.

The series "Mohanagar" features Mosharraf Karim, along with Zakia Bari Mamo, Shamol Mawla, Mostafizur Noor Imran, and Khairul Basar, among others.

The series followed a seven-hour story inside a police station in Dhaka, where a mix of criminals, an eminent industrialist, the general public, members of the press, are all waiting to know the fate of that night.

Ashfaque Nipun known for his portrayal of real-life scenarios and family dramas in his projects. In an interview with The Daily Star he revealed that he is interested in telling stories of not the high achievers but the dark horses and back benchers of the society.
